Starting Mountain biking age 7, I’ve always enjoyed the escape of getting out on my bike and exploring nature and the outdoors. By my teenage years I was racing Cross Country and laterally Downhill in the Scottish series as part of a local team. Early in my time racing I was invited to try out for the MBUK Scott Racing team, featuring in a magazine photoshoot of up and coming new racers!
Following four seasons of racing, I took a break to concentrate on my university degree, however at this point I also took up an interest in photography which kept me in touch with the mountain bike scene, photographing racing and at the World Cup rounds in Fort William. Of course I was still riding during this time as well as gaining leadership experience through my volunteer work with Scouts.
Since qualifying as a British Cycling MTB Guide, I have been working as a mountain guide, specialising in working with youth groups, organising and leading day trips and residential bike camps.
